Bagged Birch Firewood
A processing company in NL that specializes in bagged firewood. The product that is offered is a 1.5 cubic foot mesh bag of high quality birch firewood. The birch is small, dry, and split, making the product easy to light and burn. Birch is used for several reasons; it is a hardwood, therefore producing high BTU's (British Thermal Units) when burnt. It is easy to light, has good coaling qualities, produces very few sparks, has slight fragrance, and has a Heat Class of 1 which means it is in a group of the top firewood. Birch has no messy bark so retailers have the option of storing the product inside their outlet. The cleanliness also makes the product look more attractive than other types of wood. Firewood is bagged in volume, not weight, so all bags contain the same amount of firewood. The bags are blaze orange so that they can be easily seen by clean-up crews, and if any bags are blown away, they are biodegradable and they will break down with heavy exposure to sunlight. Like all products, bagged firewood is tagged and labeled to standard.
Kindling
Kindling is packaged in small convenient bags of 0.3 cubic feet. All of the kindling has been dried, bringing the moisture content to approximately 10-20 per cent. Due to this dryness, the product is extremely efficient in starting a fire. The packages are also labeled to standards. Bundles of kindling can be delivered in small amounts or on pallets.
