310 RCSCC Clode sound had its beginning during a Royal Canadian Legion meeting held at Branch #48, Port blandford, in 1987. Members saw a need to get the youth involved in an organization that would benefit to them and get them off the streets. On February 14, 1991, 310 RCSCC Clode Sound held its first meeting with 36 cadets and 3 officers on deck.
Clode Sound was the name agreed upon for the corps. The communities of Port Blandford, Charlottetown, Bunyan's cove, Musgravetown, Canning's Cove, Bloomfield, and Lethbridge are within the Clode Sound waters and it was these places from which our corps would attract potential cadets.
The crest has a steam engine at the head of Clode Sound. the locomotive represents Port Blandford which had a railway station, and the water of Clode Sound is portrayed to represent the importance the waterway had prior to the Trans Canada highway opening in 1965. Prior to the TCH, Clode Sound was the main means of transportation for logging, fishing, and visiting surrounding communities all year round. Persons wishing to visit inland communities such as St. John's or Gander had to travel to Port blandford by boat and take a train from here.
The Motto for 310 Clode Sound is Festina Lente -- Make Haste Slowly.
