Located on Newfoundland's East Coast, the Discovery Trail is a panorama of scenery, historic sites, coastal towns and villages, and natural wonders. You will be captivated by our unique culture and history, and the warmth of our most prized collection, our people. There's lots to do and see with interpretive and historic sites, museums, craft shops, and historical pageantries. There are endless opportunities to experience nature. Boat tours offer whale watching, bird watching, and berg-chasing.
The Discovery Trail is just a two (2) hour drive from the St. John's Airport or an hour drive from Gander Airport.
The Discovery Trail has five entrances (indicated in the map below), our Western entrance at Port Blandford on Route233, our Main Entrances at Route 230 and 230a, and our Eastern entrances at Southwest Arm on Routes 204 and 205. These are the gateways to one of the most historic and scenic regions of Newfoundland and Labrador. Our history spans over 500 years and we invite you to come along and enjoy the many wonderful sights.
As part of Newfoundland and Labrador's Eastern Region, the Discovery Trail offers our visitors a look into the past with a perfect view of our history and heritage. Our rugged coastlines, majestic beauty and warm hospitality are yours to enjoy.
