Marine Interpretation Centre, Salton's Wharf, Terra Nova National Park, TCH west of Port Blandford

Located approximately 35 minutes west on the TCH from Port Blandford. Exciting marine exhibits, an aquarium, a touch tank, an under water camera, and science camps. Don't forget your TNNP Permit. Check local gas service stations for more information.

 
Sandy Pond, Terra nova National Park

Located in Terra Nova National Park approximately 15 minutes west on the TCH from Port Blandford where you can swim in a fresh water pond with 200m stretch of sandy beach; rent canoes or kayaks. Don't forget your TNNP Permit. Check local gas service stations for more information.

Town of Terra Nova

Located about 1 hour west from Port Blandford. Travel approximately 1/2 hour on TCH and take left turn-off to Town of Terra Nova. Then travel further down this unpaved road until you reach the quiet, charming little Town of Terra Nova. Spend a day at the beach. Look for Pond Rd. or stop and ask a friendly local. This fresh water pond has a very sheltered sandy beach where kids can swim out to a wharf and use the community diving board. There are change rooms on site. Why not pack a picnic as well?

 
Northwest River

Why not try salmon fishing on the Northwest River just minutes west on the TCH Route 1 from Port Blandford. Purchase a permit at any local gas station and then drop into the observation hut on the TCH. Take notice of the salmon count on the building. Friendly Terra Nova National Park employees will assist you in finding a great fishing location on the river and make sure you are familiar with the guidelines too.

Malcolm Brown Memorial Park

Located in Musgravetown on Route 233 about 15 minutes drive from Port Blandford. You can swim in a fresh water pond with a stretch of sandy beach, picnic, camp and more. Contact the Musgravetown Town Office for more information: 709-467-2726.

 
Twin Rivers Golf Course 18 Holes

Canada Day Celebrations

Canada Day activities include a Flag Raising and Cake Cutting Ceremony at the Town Office & Fire Hall as the community gathers in front to sing O Canada and to celebrate our country followed by a hot dog barbeque. Also at this time prizes are awarded for the Children's Colouring Contest and other draw prizes. A0ll in attendance receive hand flags, temporary tattoos, pins, and stickers. The Discovery Trail Route 233, 233-10 & 234

Take a day trip and explore the Route 233 of The Discovery Trail passing through such charming communities as Bunyan's Cove, Musgravetown, Canning's cove, Bloomfield, Lethbridge, Brooklyn, Portland, Jamestown, and Winterbrook. This area has rugged coastlines and rolling farm land.

All Terrain Vehicle (ATV) Rides and snowmobile Rides on the T'railway

The T'railway passes right through Port Blandford and is easily accessible from just about any point in the Town. Pack your day pack and take a ride east or west along the T'railway outside Port Blandford. The weather in Spring varies, therefore in early Spring snowmobiling is quite popular and in late Spring ATV rides are more favourable.

The Old Barracks Cafe and Gifts, Musgravetown

On Route 233 travel to Musgravetown, approximately 15 minutes from Port Blandford. This old Salvation Army Church was converted into a quaint little gift shop and cafe. Terra Nova National Park - Backcountry and Cross Country Skiing, Snowshoeing and Dog Sledding.

One of the best ways to enjoy the park in winter is by cross-country skiing. There are several groomed trails. Some of these can be found at Sandy Pond.
