
These are the longest and warmest days. You can pack a lot of activities into these longer days. Generally, you can experience summer during the months of late June, July, August, and early to mid September. Put on your swimsuit, sandals, and head to the many local swimming holes in the area. Some are in ponds, some are in lakes, some are in rivers and some are in the ocean, whatever the location you're sure to enjoy the refreshing coolness of a summer swim. in addition to swimming, there are so many places to go and things to experience in Port Blandford and the surrounding area. Come and see twilight turn to darkness on a warm summer's night or rolling hills, dense boreal forest, rugged coastline, and bright sunshine. See the Town & Fire Hall decorated with bright red and white Canada Flags blowing in the soft summer breeze as Port Blandford celebrates Canada Day.
Come and feel the warm hug of a fresh breeze, and soft gentle rains. Feel the rays of sun tickling your skin and the refreshing coolness of a fresh or salt water swim. Feel the strength of an Atlantic Salmon pulling on your line as you fly fish on any of the three rivers surrounding Port Blandford.
Come and smell the wild roses and other wildflowers that grow abundantly in Port Blandford or the warm salty breeze from the ocean. Smell the delicious scent of a Barbeque on a summer evening.
Come and taste the fresh various summer seafood such as mussels boiled over a campfire on the beach or lobster, shrimp, scallops or stuffed squid. Taste the ripened berries and try some traditional Newfoundland recipes.

Take a leisurely stroll on the T'railway which passes directly through the length of the town and breath in the thick sweet scent of summer wildflowers and fresh salt water breezes.
Purchase a Salmon Fishing License and enjoy the thrill and challenge of fly fishing on any of the three rivers, Southwest, Northwest and Salmon Rivers which flow into Clode Sound through Port Blandford.
Canoe down the Southwest or Northwest River and take in the breathtaking view as the river opens to the ocean.
Enjoy Sea Kayaking in Clode Sound and explore every nook and cranny of our beautiful coastline.
Stay with us and travel to Terra Nova National Park for a day to explore, hike, bird watch, and sight see.
Use our public wharf/dock and experience a boat ride "down the bay". As you travel through the Sound you can dive for sand dollars on the bottom, pick or rake mussels and roast or boil them over an outdoor campfire pit, you just might even see a school of caplin as they get ready to "roll" on the shore or a whale may jump out of the water next to your boat as if saying "hello".
Pack a picnic and head down route 233 to Malcolm Brown Memorial Park in Musgravetown. The Park offers swimming (no lifeguard on duty), a Children's Playground, outdoor washrooms and changing rooms, a cookhouse and more!
There's lots of activities to try! Why not fly kites, picnic, hike, walk, canoe, kayak, golf, fish, anything your imagination can dream - you can do!
Strawberries are ripe in late June. Travel down the Discovery Trail, Route 233, to Bunyan's Cove or Lethbridge and enjoy a day of strawberry picking at one of the U-Pick farms.
Stop by the Town Office in Port Blandford and hike down the trail by Middle Brook to go swimming in the local swimming hole. Please use trail at own risk.
Grab a bowl or container and go berry picking. Berry Picking is a family activity here in Port Blandford, so grab the children and grandchildren - they'll love helping pick you berries.
